Journalists & Politicians

Israel

In 2003, to mark its 40th anniversary, Thanks To Scandinavia inaugurated a new scholarship program for political leaders and journalists from Scandinavia. Participants are invited to take part in an intensive visit to Israel, to meet with its leaders and representatives from all walks of society, and to learn firsthand about the complex situation in the Middle East. Trips are coordinated with Project Interchange in the United States. For more information on the program, please write to tts@ajc.org.

United States

The year 2008 marks the beginning of a new Thanks To Scandinavia program bringing young Scandinavian journalists to the United States. The participants spend two weeks visiting New York, Washington DC and, in 2008, the University of Oklahoma. This unique program presents the United States in all its complexity and variety, as well as strengthens transatlantic relations. It also aims at fortifying the Scandinavian-Jewish connection, bringing it to the next level of cooperation. The program is organized in cooperation with Danish School of Journalism, Gothenburg University, Oslo University College, and Swedish School of Social Science, University of Helsinki.
