Jonathan Keren-Klaris of Denmark is currently studying for a BA in Middle Eastern Studies and Hebrew at the University of Copenhagen. His areas of academic interest include the modern history of Israel, the development of Hebrew literature and the political circumstances in Israel and the Middle Eastern region. Thanks to the generosity of TTS, he will attend the Summer Ulpan Program at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, to improve his Hebrew towards an academic level. With a thorough comprehension of Hebrew, he will be able to read, analyze and translate the works of Israeli authors, and hereby contribute to the general knowledge and appreciation of Jewish culture and arts. Furthermore, he seeks to follow and report upon the political developments in Israel, for which a fluency in communicative Hebrew enables an elaborate understanding.
