Scandinavian journalism students probe the politics of peace in Israel
Visit to Israel includes meetings with Israelis and Palestinians
Who: 16 journalism students from Scandinavia , who were hand-picked through a competitive application process, sponsored by Thanks To Scandinavia foundation
What: Students take a fact finding trip to Israel to meet with analysts, politicians, and civil society leaders who represent diverse perspectives and constituencies, as well as with Palestinians from the West Bank .
When: January 7 through 14, 2011
Where: Key Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem
Why: The goal of the program is to familiarize up-and-coming Scandinavian journalists—key opinion leaders—with the myriad voices on the ground in Israel . The program is designed to contribute to dialogue among peoples in the pursuit of peace in the region. This is the seventh trip for Danish, Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish opinion makers sponsored by Thanks To Scandinavia in collaboration with Project Interchange.
Editor’s Note: The students are available for interviews to discuss their impressions of the peace process both before and after the trip. They are all fluent in English and their own language
